Women’s 500m time trial at the Athens Olympics

Australia’s Anna Meares arrived at the 2004 Athens Olympics as the favourite in the 500m time trial having won the world championship in Melbourne earlier that year. As such, she was the last rider to take to the track in her quest for Olympic gold.
