Men’s 100m at the 2000 Sydney Paralympics
Date: July 30, 2014 / Posted by Glenn Mitchell
I was lucky enough to call the track and field at the 2000 Sydney Paralympics on both ABC Radio and TV. One of the feature races on the track was the men’s 100m for leg amputees featuring the fastest men in the world – Americans Tony Volpentest, Brian Frasier and Marlon Shirley along with Australian Neil Fuller.

You have got to hand it to some people ... I have been accused of being a racist for stating the obvious ... Liz Cambage is a very good player ... Lauren Jackson is a great player.
Congratulations to Lauren Jackson ... the first Australian player to be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame ... the greatest basketballer this country has produced 🏀🇦🇺👏
I’m fortunate to live just 500m from @WAFLOfficial & @WestPerthFC 343-game legend Bill Dempsey ... always a delight to chat with over coffee ... can highly recommend his recently published autobiography ... a great read about one of our greatest indigenous footballers 👏
Thanks to Vicki Laurie (@kadinalaurie) for a beautiful four-page article in today’s Weekend @australian lift out on wife, Karen Tighe’s battle with viral encephalitis over the last 14 months 🙏
Can totally understand the BCCI’s decision to suspend the IPL ... with three squads currently having infected players and staff it was becoming untenable ... now for the internationals to get home ... in AUS’s case, good luck 🏏 #iplsuspended #IPL
